The way my jaw dropped this weekend when I discovered that The “Boatkin” — a cross between L.L.Bean’s Boat and Tote and the Birkin — is currently going viral. While I’m always here for innovation, that $1,500+ price tag is personally not for me. Instead, I’m grabbing my beloved, always-on-sale Lands’ End tote (that also happens to be filled with spacious inner pockets) and giving it the warm embrace it deserves.

The best gifts for father figures

This limited-edition bundle comes with dish and hand soaps that smell expensive.
Margo here. It’s safe to say a lot left me speechless this week — and this limited-edition scent from Mrs. Meyer’s is one of them. Tomato everything has been trending, but it usually comes with a hefty price tag. This Tomato Vine scent from the brand smells luxe, and I swear that if you decanted it into a Diptyque or Aesop bottle, no one would know the difference. It’s fresh without being overly floral, and at under $20, I’m stocking up before the season’s over. And Mrs. Meyer’s, if you’re listening, please keep this around for good. I’m begging.

It’s a Love Story by Annabel Monaghan
The story: In our eyes, it isn’t summer without an Annabel Monaghan novel. In her latest, Jane Jackson, a former child star-turned-Hollywood producer, is doing everything in her power to get her next movie greenlit — which includes vacationing with a scruffy cinematographer to chase the nineties pop star they want for its soundtrack. Said cinematographer is very grumpy, very misunderstood, and also happens to be an old love interest of Jane’s. Messy, but an exciting, heartfelt read.
