Hi from the Northeast!

I’m John Lunny, CEO and co-founder of LifeCloud. We all have a story about our aging parents and we want to hear yours so we can build the best solution possible for you and frankly, for us as well. It was our own stories about our parents that brought us together to start building something that we need for our families and friends, and hopefully many more people like you. When a bunch of us got together around a chilly New England fire pit last fall one of us started sharing a story about their family situation and then we all jumped in to help and share. LifeCloud was born then.

My story is that my mom is 90 years old and still mostly independent, living in a level 2 assisted living community in southwest Virginia near my sister. The challenges are numerous so thank goodness my mom settled next to my sister, who is a saint (mostly) btw. When mom needs help my sister is there and I visit as often as I can, but sharing the finances is a problem… When I visit, my mom points to a stack of paper financial statements and compiling those statements without having access to her bank accounts is daunting. My mom is not organized and it’s difficult to figure out everything let alone share my spreadsheet with my sister. Then two months pass and the spreadsheet is out of date since I don’t get the statements. Yes, I’ve tried Google docs to share them with my sister but she’s just not into helping keep it up to date. She’s rightly more worried about the next doctor appointment.

So I need LifeCloud, we at LifeCloud need LifeCloud, and we’re working around the clock to get this up and running as soon as possible!

Tell me how we can help. Tell me what you need. Hopefully our plans address your needs but the more people we hear from the better our solution will be!

Thanks, John Lunny

We understand bank-level security and we’re doing better than that. We’ve implemented a zero-trust policy.

Hi from Boston!

This is John Lunny, CEO and Co-Founder of LifeCloud. We’re building a solution to help people manage their estate, no matter how small, so that their spouse and children have a full view into everything you have in case you meet your ultimate demise. It’s a morbid, sad, topic but the daunting reality of executing an estate is extreme. Beyond the emotional turmoil there are a few big things and tons of little things to take care of when someone passes. The estimated time to execute an estate is anywhere from 9 to 16 months. If you listen to personal stories it can take a person 2 months full-time to sift through everything. By everything, I mean everything from the big stuff like starting the life insurance process to canceling a Netflix subscription. It’s a ton of work and it starts with days and days of going through a person’s desk and if you’re lucky, you have access to their phone and/or computer. If you don’t have phone access then you’re going to be hurting to figure out how to cancel all of those monthly subscriptions.

We want all of that information in LifeCloud so when the time comes, the access to all of that information can be transferred to the people you designate. Bank accounts, your phone pin, all of it, because without all of it the difficulty for your loved ones is too daunting. The challenge is trusting a website with all of your sensitive information.

First of all, we’re real people with a solid, trusted history of developing banking systems for the nation’s largest banks. Look at my profile on LinkedIn here. I’ve been the CEO of one of the most prominent wealth management SaaS platforms in the US. I’ve pulled together the best of the best from my travels in financial services which leads me to my second point.

We understand bank-level security and we’re doing better than that. We’re doing better than Google security. We’ve implemented a zero-trust policy where even our own developers cannot see your data. If someone put a gun to my head and said give me this person’s data, I couldn’t do it. That’s not to say banks aren’t incredibly secure… they have tons of encryption, tons of controls, and a constant set of auditors to verify they’re protecting your data, but we’re doing better than that. You alone have a passphrase that unlocks your data. Even if a rogue employee stole our database they wouldn’t be able to crack it. Period. The passphrase is in addition to your password and two-factor authentication. The password and two-factor authentication gets you securely into our site through an encrypted channel, which is a standard practice, but the passphrase decodes your sensitive data. The passphrase is a long sentence that only you know, much like a crypto key that you can remember. We do not store your passphrase - it should be a sentence that only you know and can remember, like “My daughters are Alison and Cory and I love them both deeply.” We do store a hint that you chose to help you remember, and we do ignore the case of the letters so you don’t get stuck on what you capitalized, but that’s it.

Of course we can say anything in an email and in our marketing literature, but we’re long-time financial systems professionals. Check out our LinkedIn profiles. And if it helps, I’m a skeptic like you. I went to MIT and know what brilliant computer minds are capable of and I don’t want my own employees seeing my stuff!

Thanks, John Lunny
