📈 Business models for newsletters with William Knight
"People don’t maximize their content enough. They just put it into newsletters. But are there other revenue streams you could consider?" - William Knight
William Knight is a founder of not just one newsletter business but two: Industry Slice, which publishes ad-supported newsletters across dozens of verticals, and Early Morning Media, which offers subscription newsletters for business intelligence.
Together, Industry Slice and Early Morning Media reach nearly 250,000 daily readers. Both are based in the UK. Knight has been operating these businesses since 2011, bringing a decade’s worth of experience to today’s newsletter boom. Speaking with the Crew, he shares his insights on the different business models and why he chose to separate them, and explores other revenue streams.

Beehiiv just rolled out Pollinate, a free feature that hooks Twitter’s embedded sign up with ESPs like Ghost, Mailchimp, Convert Kit, and more so that you can convert your Twitter traffic to your newsletter. Try it out.
Taking tips?
Swapstack just launched a new monetization feature called Tip Jar. It lets you collect tips or "pay as you wish" support from your readers. If you use BuyMeACoffee, the functionality is very similar (but its free!) Check the feature out on Product Hunt.
